CLARIFICATION · BANATSYNC·06.26.2026
Emi is not stepping down from BanatSync.
The announcement that Emi (zEmi_69) is stepping down from BanatSync was a prank · Emi is NOT leaving and remains the platform's technical founder. Leadership stays Jules and Emi.
Only the retirement was the joke · the threats and the actions of TorchByte, documented below, are entirely real.
A founder under pressure
Emi, real name Milian Emanuel and known online as zEmi_69, is the technical founder of BanatSync and is from Timisoara. He built almost the entire infrastructure behind the platform: the PXE flows, provisioning automation, billing, and platform logic.
It all started with TorchByte. Emi's server was colocated with them, and while it was in their custody, RAM modules went missing from it. After Emi ended the collaboration, our network and our clients were hit by DDoS attacks. The details are in the dossier below.
Also from the TorchByte side came direct threats against Emi, from stefan.straton. The screenshot below is kept as evidence.
The threat was explicit and violent: "break his legs if they catch him".
Seeing that BanatSync was under attack, our supporters reacted on their own initiative, and what happened from there on is no longer BanatSync's doing. On June 26, 2026 an announcement appeared that Emi was stepping down · it was a prank. Emi is not going anywhere: he remains the technical founder, Jules and Emi stay at the helm, and customer services are not affected. The only thing the joke exposed was who rushed to kick him on the way out · see a TorchByte partner's reaction below.
BanatSync firmly condemns these threats and harassment. The screenshots below are kept public as a record of what happened.
Intimidation builds nothing. BanatSync stands.

And now, the company where it all started...
Cards on the table
The BanatSync · TorchByte conflict. It all started when RAM modules went missing from the server colocated at TorchByte. When Emi noticed, he ended all collaboration.
From there, our network and our clients started getting hit by DDoS attacks. Below are Emi's explanations, in two videos.
What TorchByte did
Unauthorized access to the dedicated server colocated with them + nuke: the BanatSync bot's token, taken from the server's SSD, was used to post the fake announcement (@everyone) on the BanatSync Discord

Hosting of illegal pornographic material

Incidents never reported to ANSPDCP despite the legal duty · they waited for the statute to lapse
Did this happen to you too?
This is the company some of you unfortunately trusted and got scammed by. If TorchByte did the same to you, send us the proof · we will upload it to our own cloud, where they can not touch it.
[email protected]Put all the evidence together and a pattern becomes clear: missing server parts, the BanatSync bot token taken from the SSD and used for a fake announcement (nuke), then pressure and threats, leading to where things stand now.
At BanatSync we believe in competition · it pushes everyone to be better, and the customers are the ones who win. But competition comes with common-sense rules, and what happened here breaks every one of them.
Sabotage, attacks, impersonation and intimidating someone's people is not competition · it is fear. A new company growing, offering better services and earning people's trust is not a threat you answer with threats, fake announcements and "do not come back" messages. You answer it by doing better work.
A company should not be buried for delivering more than you do. If the only response you have to a stronger competitor is to try to destroy it, you lost the contest long ago · on the field, not behind a screen.
BanatSync is still standing, and it will keep doing its job the right way, exactly as it has from the start.
The ultimatum
TorchByte is operated by All Things IT SRL (company ID 50757953, Suceava), run by administrator Ștefan Eduard Straton (on Discord: stefan.straton). Emi's server, a Dell R630, was colocated with them in the NXDATA-1 data center in Bucharest.
On June 10, 2026, to wind down the relationship, All Things IT proposed a contract transferring the colocation to a third party, along with a declared debt of 500 EUR. Four versions of that contract went around the same day, and when Emi asked for clear terms, the conversation turned into threats.

All Things IT representative · 19:09
„if you don't like it, don't sign · you are not in a position to negotiate"
stefan.straton · 19:10
„do you want me to show you that you are not in a position to negotiate? do you really want me to show you?"
stefan.straton · 19:11
„you said it yourself, I live off daddy's money"
stefan.straton · 19:11
„you think it's hard for me to pay a few lawyers to get my money back and put you into personal bankruptcy?"
stefan.straton · 19:11
„wrap up this circus already, I'm not in the mood"
All Things IT representative · 19:12
„either this, or the full amount discussed in the past days stays due"
stefan.straton · 19:14
„we have been dragging this dispute out for too long already · it's last call"
The debt belonged to BanatSync SRL, a limited liability company. Normally, a company debt cannot put its administrator into "personal bankruptcy" · the threat worked as pressure to sign.
Four contract versions in a single day
- v1
Clause 5.2 keeps BanatSync liable for the debt until it is paid in full. Nothing about the server. Asked why, their answer was: "you are the one selling the server, not us" and "there is nothing to specify about the server, it's not our server".
- v2
After Emi objected, 5.2 is rewritten: BanatSync is released from liability for the debt.
- v3
The release disappears. 5.2 lets them raise "claims" for "undiscovered sums, fees, damages or obligations" for 90 days, and 5.3 repeats the same clause with no time limit at all.
- v4
The window grows from 90 to 180 days, and 5.2 goes back to the version that keeps BanatSync liable.
BanatSync signed none of the versions.
The server, after their custody
The monitoring report from before shows 6 modules of 32 GB, slot by slot. After the server's time at All Things IT, the system sees only 5: one module is missing, and only one of the 4 faster modules is left, the rest being slower ones. On restart, one module no longer worked (memory errors on slot A3).
| Before | Now | |
|---|---|---|
| RAM modules | 6 | 5 |
| Capacity | 192 GB | 160 GB |
| 2400 MT/s modules (M393A4K40CB1) | 4 | 1 |
| 2133 MT/s modules (M393A4K40BB0) | 2 | 4 |
The final invoice
On June 10, the debt declared in the contract was 500 EUR. The final invoice issued by All Things IT reached 1,293 EUR, including a 500 EUR "termination fee" and 218 EUR in "late payment penalties". Earlier versions of the same invoice showed 363 EUR, then 543 EUR.
"Batman" is stefan.straton
For a year, the support BanatSync received came from the "Batman" account (profile: atit.ro). The first screenshot shows the same conversation opened on the real profile: stefan.straton, tichosting, torchbyte.com. The rest are messages from that support.
Other people's names, addresses, phone numbers and customer data have been covered in the screenshots. The full dossier, with SHA-256 fingerprints, is kept separately.
